Man I used to check here every day to see new stuff. Wish we would pick back up on the forum
I still check here everyday. I feel bad that there's not much activity, but the I don't when I see that none of the states have new posts
I check here almost daily. I think a part of the issue with low forum activity was that the old forum data was lost. It will take time to build it back up.
It's all about the people. I would get excited to check the forum and post all the time. I had a crap ton of post count on the old forum. More than nearly anyone else I saw. I also used to have a computer I would go on every day lol. I don't have a computer anymore
Yeah, it takes others to really get this place going and actually chat once again outside of GroupMe and Facebook. I am going to add some direct social media implementation once time permits, such as displaying the team's Instagram page on here, Facebook-like profile pages (being worked currently), and so forth. Ideally, I would like to eventually setup a part of the website that will have articles on member's builds, event coverage, and more.
Monthly check-in! Nothing to report. Lol.
Four more years. That is how long Uncle Sam will own me for come next month. At least with this re-enlistment comes with a nice bonus. $33,573.60 before taxes. Estimating about 30% taken out for taxes should yield take home pay of $23,501.52. I will get 50% up front and then the remaining 50% split across the next four years on the anniversary of my re-enlistment so roughly $2,937.69 per year.
On top of that, I am selling back 60 days of unused leave that I have accrued with is my base pay divided by 30 then multiplied by the number of days I am selling back. That comes to $5,595.60 before taxes.
I am not happy to re-enlist due to benefits being taken away, lower manning but higher workload and expectations, shitty leadership, etc. but it's a stable, guaranteed job with a steady paycheck.
What do I plan to do with this bonus? First on the block is to pay off a couple of loans, then put the FR-S on a set of bags, and some of it into savings. I may look into getting the wide body kit also depending on how much I want to put aside from that bonus for it.
